True Colors: What Green Means for Me

Hello, students!

        I am so excited that Ms. Waffles and I had you all do the "True Colors" personality quiz, because it is a really fun tool that can help us understand ourselves a little better.  One really cool thing I love about True Colors is that it points out how our own personality/character traits are related to our personal academic strengths and weaknesses.  Below, I reflected on my results.  After reading my blog, I have questions written in red for you to respond to on your own blog.  Feel free to add pictures after you finish answering the questions.  Also, don't forget to follow me! :)

After taking the quiz, here were my scores (in order from most like me to least like me):

Green: 19
Gold: 16
Orange: 8
Blue: 7

        Here is a little bit about "Green" personalities (taken from True Colors Meanings and True Colors PPT).  I have summarized the descriptions to what I think best fits me:

* I value intellect and capabilities above all else
* I seek proof and data before making decisions
* I am persistent, firm, determined, and consistent
* I like to understand things fully through explanations and answers
* I value justice, fairness, and insight
* I am a natural non-conformist, a visionary, and a problem-solver

Do I agree or disagree with my True Colors result?
        I think that overall, I definitely agree with my results that say I am a green personality.  As a science teacher, I love to wonder and think about everything I see around me, from physics to biology to chemistry to psychology to history to math to English to art and theatre and music and... EVERYTHING!!  I am constantly reading about new discoveries and research that scientists are doing to understand our world around us.  I feel like I always need an answer for how things work and why we do the things we do.

4. Do you agree or disagree with your True Colors result?  Explain why in 2-3 sentences.

What color I am *least* like: Blue - I DISAGREE! 
        One weakness of True Colors is in the fact that just because you are most like one color, doesn't mean that you are only that color.  For example, my results showed that I was least like a blue personality. Blue personalities are nurturing, calm, loyal, caring, and encouraging.  I feel that as a teacher, I really identify with being blue and try to practice being a blue personality all the time.  I love building relationships with my students by getting to know them as individuals.

5. What color were you *least* like?  Do you agree or disagree that you are not similar to this color? Explain using 2-3 sentences.

Conclusion
        True colors has always helped me understand who I am a little better, which helps me in many ways.  When I go to work and school, I know that I will always question everything that I do.  Sometimes, this is very beneficial (good) because I am constantly revising and editing my lessons, my school work, paperwork that I have to do, etc.  In the end, I am usually very happy with what I produce because I spend so much time thinking about it.  However, this can be a weakness sometimes because I am too critical of things that don't always matter in the end.  Because I am not very orange, I've had to learn to be a little more spontaneous sometimes and just "go with the flow."
